As always, Pastor Karim and the Buyego Community Church in Bombo sends their greetings in Jesus’ name. Though the country is still in lockdown, at least until mid-June, there is much ministry going on as well as the construction of a water well and flooring at the Bunyaga Church. A water well in Africa is much more than a place to get fresh drinking water, it is a place to socialize and hear the latest news. Typically, a water well and the primary school are located at the local mosque, the focal point of the Muslim community. This water well, that you have funded for just $2,200, is placed right next to the Bunyaga Church to provide fresh drinking water for the community as well as the living water that only Jesus can provide. When the floor of the Bunyaga Church is completed, there will be a dedication service in which all the village will be invited, both Muslim and Christian, with a worship service, the Jesus Film, and plenty of food as always. Concerning the men’s discipleship meetings, Pastor Karim is now leading seven former Muslim men to be disciples of Jesus. One young man, Yahaya, was disowned by his family and beaten and robbed by his own brothers when they found out that he had become a Christian, but Pastor Karim has arranged a place for him to live and grow crops. He is now working to get a beauty shop in operation so that the men with wives could ‘plate’ (braid) hair to earn money. Pastor Karim is working hard to make sure that the new believers have a place to live and become self-sufficient.
