Pastor Karim and the Buyego Church in Bombo, Uganda sends their greetings in Jesus’ name. Though COVID19 is causing a major disruption of events around the world, the church is still proclaiming the gospel and meeting the needs of church members as well as those in the villages. Uganda is on a 3 week lock down and people are having difficulties getting food and supplies. Thanks to your support, we were able to send funds to purchase sugar, rice, matoke and other vital food items for those in need. Another item recently purchased is an Intex swimming pool. Since Pastor Karim had to travel several ours to find a location to baptize new believers, we decided to send him funds to purchase a small pool that can be easily put up and taken down. Concerning the construction of the Bunyaga Church, the walls are up, the doors are in place, and the windows are the only remaining fixture left to finish this meeting place in the midst of a Muslim village. Finally, thanks to Skype, Joe Nail and I are able to communicate with Pastor Karim and have been meeting with him on Thursdays. We encourage him, pray with him, read scripture together and get updates on the progress of the ministry to the Nubians.

Prayer concerns; please pray for Pastor Karim as he seeks to minister to his church members and community during this pandemic, a believer named Harriett who is considering going to Kenya to be trained in planting churches among unreached people groups, a new believer named, Yahaya, is now being discipled, and another Muslim man who was given a Messenger gave his life to Christ.

Pastor Karim and several from his church went to the homes of their church members as well as those in the village who are in desperate need, taking food and even helping to remove jiggers from the children’s feet.

The Bunyaga Church now has two doors and metal siding. There is still much to do before the building is ready for services but our God is moving in mighty ways among the Nubians of Bombo, Uganda.

Though Pastor Karim is nearly 8,000 miles away, my friend Joe and I still meet with him on Skype about once a week.
