Bombo, Uganda

“To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and a witness of Christ’s sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed: Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.” (1 Peter 5:1-4)

Pastor Geoffrey Mbabazi is our ‘Unreached4K’ Uganda director/coordinator who oversees all of the ministry and operations in our 3 churches near Bombo and now our 3 churches near Hoima, Uganda. He is a graduate from Uganda Baptist Seminary and leads our church pastors and leaders in preaching and teaching class, proper hermeneutics and bible study, evangelism and outreach, and counseling and pastoral care. Our newest church building, Cornerstone Kyabasara, is nearly complete with the exception of doors and windows, a concrete floor, plastering and painting. Once this is complete we will just need a pulpit, chairs, Bibles, and electricity. Thank you all so much for your continued donations to support the spread of the Gospel in Uganda.

Our newest church plant is in Pachwa, a village near Hoima, Uganda. Within a couple of months, hundreds of people have decided to follow Jesus as Lord and Savior. There are basically no Gospel preaching and teaching churches in that area primarily because of the Basaka Cult. We are desperate to get the Gospel of Jesus Christ to them. Thanks to Mount Pleasant Church in Kentucky, and many other donors, the church building is now complete. We have now nearly completed our fifth church, Cornerstone Kyabasara, and making plans to start building in a little village called Kyrongo where we presently have a house church meeting.

Vizhnitsa, Ukraine

On June 12, brother Joe Nail and myself headed to Vizhnitsa, Ukraine to help Pastor Paul Dudka with 2 week-long ‘Kiddo Camps.’ Sometimes ministry is not preaching and teaching in the churches and villages, it’s taking time to minister and love on more than 250 children, most of whom are fatherless at the present time because of the war. Because of our delayed flights, we ended up attending a house church in Siret, Romania where we stayed with a Christian family near the border of Ukraine. It was an amazing time of worship, quite different than worship in Africa I must say, but later that day we crossed the border to meet with Pastor Paul. The first camp was in the mountains of Shepit where 132 children needed to hear the gospel of Jesus. Nearly all of them are Eastern Orthodox and know basically nothing of God’s word or salvation. Each day we had large group time with fun and dancing, followed by breakfast, recreation time, craft time, Bible study, lunch, fun time, and then another large group time to conclude the day. Each camp lasted 5 days, followed by a time of fellowship with Paul and his family on Saturday and then enjoying worship at his church, ‘Revival Baptist Church,’ on Sunday. The next week was followed by the same program yet it was located at his church in Vizhnitsa. Though Joe and I are not children’s ministers or leaders, God gave us a voice and a desire to spread the gospel to anyone, anywhere, even with children. At the conclusion of each camp, we gave every young person a Samaritan’s Purse shoebox full of gifts and their own bible, what a blessing it was to see the smiles on their faces. Our prayer is that many will read their Bible, the Holy Spirit of God would speak to their hearts, and bring back a remembrance of the gospel message we shared with them.

Unreached 4K’s purpose is to support local churches and ministries among the most marginalized people groups in our world by meeting physical as well as spiritual needs. This purpose is accomplished by making mature disciples, establishing healthy Christian churches, and training local church leaders among unreached people groups of the world. Our overall mission is to advance the gospel of Jesus Christ to these people groups through supporting indigenous church planters and leaders, providing vocational training and job initiatives, as well as meeting the physical and educational needs of the community.
