Uganda Mission Trip

On January 24, our team of 6 headed for Uganda for a week and a half of mission work which would include the graduation ceremony of our 15 tailoring students as well as several barbering students, fellowshipping with our brothers and sisters in Christ at our 3 churches surrounding Bombo, assisting with a large crusade at several locations, traveling to Hoima (a 6-hour drive) to consider planting a new church, and attending the dedication service of ‘New Life Baptist Church’ Ndejje

The re-building of Cornerstone Church in Kibajjwe, Uganda is now completed. All of the old wood and metal has been replaced with brick and cement. The old material was not wasted, the wood was used to make chicken pens and piggeries while the metal roof was used to make shelters for the women who cook outside…even during the rainy season. Thanks to Cornerstone Community Church in Louisville, KY, the village of Kibajjwe now has a permanent meeting place for worship, bible studies, ministry training, and special events, all to bring glory and honor to our Lord Jesus Christ.

While ‘Cornerstone Church’ Kibajjwe was still under construction we had the honor to participate in the Sunday worship service with singing, dancing, preaching of the word of God, and of course eating a big meal with everyone who came. We then participated in the graduation ceremony for all those who have worked so hard to learn how to become a tailor who can repair, altar, and even make a complete set of clothes (each graduate received their very own sewing machine). We also had several students who graduated from the barbering school where they learned to cut and braid hair. One of our goals at ‘Unreached4K’ is to assist the villagers to become self-supportive so they can meet their daily needs without outside help. “Give a Man a Fish, and You Feed Him for a Day. Teach a Man to Fish, and You Feed Him for a Lifetime.”

‘Cornerstone Church’ Graduation Ceremony'

After the graduation celebration, 3 of our team members, Ed Young, Jennifer During, and Justin Durling, headed north to spend the week helping at the ‘Providence Farm’ orphanage, feeding street children in the slums of Kampala, and traveling to Kisoro, near the Congo, to baptize dozens of pigmies who chose to follow Jesus as Lord and Savior. They truly love the Lord Jesus and ‘GO’ where He says to ‘GO,’ to reach the outcast and unreached!

A stop at the slums of Kampala where the young people are fed and taught the word of God twice a week and a very long trip to Kisoro to baptize dozens of new believers.

The following day, we headed to Bembe Baptist Church where we had a great time of celebration and fellowship and then carried out door to door evangelism throughout the village sharing the gospel and inviting everyone to our evening crusade where there was singing, dancing, sharing testimonies, and preaching the word of God. We then traveled to Hoima for several days, near Lake Albert and the DRC, to carry out a series of crusades and investigate the possibility of planting a new church…where there are basically no churches in the tiny village of Pachwa. We spent a lot of time evangelizing in the village, getting to know the people, sharing the gospel with those on the streets, and carrying out a crusade every evening. Little did we know that this would be the fastest growing church that we have every been a part of with nearly 200 people attending just 7 weeks later. Pastor Geoffrey has been traveling there every Wednesday for Bible Study, evangelizing, fellowshipping with the village elders, and carrying out worship services on Thursdays and Sundays…then returning back to Bombo Sunday night. He has the heart of a true church planter! Recently, we purchased land to build a church building in Pachwa so they will be able to have a permanent place of worship, praising the Lord Jesus out of the rain! If you would like to sponsor a church building for the people of Hoima, please contact us and we will make it happen.

The last few days of our trip, we spent our time in the village of Ndejje where we carried out door to door evangelism, sharing the gospel and inviting everyone to the evening crusades and also conducted an eye glass ministry for those who were having trouble seeing/reading. On Sunday, we spent the day celebrating the completed construction of ‘New Life Baptist Church’ Uganda with plenty of singing, dancing, preaching, a ribbon cutting, cake, and then a final crusade in the evening. The Lord has truly blessed the village of Ndejje with His presence.

When 4 of our team members flew home, Tim Morton and Tim Isaac, stayed a few more days to carry out work with their own ministry in Jinja, Uganda called the ‘Maari Foundation.’ Their goal is to care for mothers and children who are lacking basic needs for daily life such as food, medical care, and school needs. They met many families, spent time with the children, taught the word of God in one of the local churches, and took care of a lot of ministry business.

Ukraine Mission Update

Thank you all so much for your prayers and support of Pastor Paul Dudka at Revival Baptist Church in Vizhnitsa, Ukraine. Though he just recovered from a terrible sickness that put him down for over a week, he is still planting churches, ministering to widows, refugees, and orphans, even in the midst of this war. Please continue to pray for and support Pastor Paul in his ministry to ‘the least of these’ in Ukraine during this difficult time.
